The Kakuobi is a traditional Japanese belt worn by males with a Kimono or Yukata, or in some martial arts over the Hakama.  Obi is a generic term meaning "belt", kaku means "angle" or "square" and in the case of "kakuobi" it refers to the shape of the belt. The Kakuobi is usually made of cotton or silk.
